A man living in the slums near the Tarn Taran railway station paid dearly for stopping youths smoking cigarettes at Pir's place when they killed him by hitting him on the head with a brick. Police of Thana City Tarn Taran have taken possession of the body and registered a case of murder against two people. While the postmortem of the body will be conducted on Thursday.
Tina Takhia, a slum resident of Pooja, told the police in her complaint that on April 22, her husband Sunil, son of Raunki Ram, who worked as a laborer, was standing outside the house at around 9:30 p.m. near Piran's place. Where their neighbors Baldev Singh son of Deepak and Gaevi son of Shambhu were smoking. When her husband stopped her from smoking near Peer's place, Baldev Singh and Gavi allegedly hit her husband on the head with a brick and seriously injured her.She did not admit her husband to the hospital due to lack of funds and continued to get some treatment at home, but today her husband died due to a head injury. Police Station City Chief Inspector Sunil Kumar said that based on the statements given by Pooja, the dead body has been taken into custody and kept at the dead house of Civil Hospital Tarn Taran. Where his post-mortem will be conducted by the board of doctors on Thursday. While Baldev Singh and Gavi have been nominated under the sections of murder. He said that ASI Kirpal Singh, in-charge of Chowki Bus Station, who is investigating the matter further, is conducting a raid to arrest the accused.
