Desh Bhagat Ayurvedic College & Hospital Hosts World Hypertension Day Event

Sri Fatehgarh Sahib/ 21 May (Ravinder Singh Dhindsa) : Desh Bhagat Ayurvedic College and Hospital (DBACH) commemorated World Hypertension Day 2024 with an impactful event aimed at raising awareness about hypertension and promoting preventive measures. The event was organized under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Smita Johar, Principal, and Dr. Kulbhushan, Director of DBACH, and featured a keynote lecture by Dr. Urvi Chavda, Assistant Professor, Department of Panchakarma.In her enlightening address, Dr. Urvi Chavda provided a comprehensive overview of hypertension, emphasizing the importance of disease awareness and prevention. She highlighted that hypertension, often referred to as the "silent killer," can lead to severe health complications if not managed properly. Dr. Chavda underscored the significance of lifestyle modifications, dietary changes, and Ayurvedic interventions in effectively preventing and managing hypertension."High blood pressure has no symptoms and can be dangerous if not treated. Hypertension puts you at risk for stroke, heart attack, and other problems.

Nearly half of adults who have hypertension don’t realize it. So, checkups are crucial. Dietary changes, exercise, and medicine can help you keep your blood pressure where it should be. Understanding hypertension from an Ayurvedic perspective and treating it according to Panchakarma principles can be highly effective," said Dr. Chavda.The event witnessed active participation from faculty members across various departments and students of the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery program. Notable attendees included Dr. Amandeep Sharma, Vice Principal; Dr. Nishant Paika; Dr. Prachi Sharma; Dr. Rajni Rani; and Dr. Sonali Gupta.Dr. Smita Johar and Dr. Kulbhushan expressed their gratitude to the organizing team and the attendees for their enthusiastic participation, reaffirming the institution's commitment to health education and community awareness.
