Chandigarh, June 24
A painful accident took place at Elante Mall in Chandigarh. A 10-year-old boy who was taking a nap here died due to falling from a toy train. Due to severe head injury, the child was taken to GMCH-32 Hospital where he died during treatment. The child has been identified as Shahbaz (10) resident of Nawanshahr.
The police of the Industrial Area police station have registered a case of wantonness and negligence against the operator of the toy train, Bapu Dham, a resident of Saurabh, and the company owners. The police have handed over the body to the heirs after the post-mortem.
The police have also seized the CCTV footage from inside Elante Mall. According to the footage, only two children were sitting in the toy train and Shahbaz is seen trying to get off the toy train. The father alleges that the accident happened due to negligence.
