Under the guidance of Dr. Shivendra Rai, a team of doctors from PGI Chandigarh successfully transplanted the corneas of Krishan Kumar Gupta, a resident of Sirhind, who had pledged to donate his eyes after death. Dr. Hitender Suri, a renowned social worker and long-time associate of the Vishav Jagriti Mission, informed that Krishan Kumar Gupta had not only pledged to donate his eyes but also motivated many others to do the same. So far, many residents of the area have come forward to donate their eyes, inspired by the mission's project Chairman, Vinay Gupta. Dr. Hitender Suri appealed to the people to come forward and support this noble cause, saying that one person's eyes can give new life to two individuals."
