Union Bank Regional Office Chandigarh, following the plantation drive “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” had set a target of planting 10,000 trees

Union Bank Regional Office Chandigarh, following the plantation drive “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” by Ministry of Environment (Forest & Climate Change), Government of India, had set a target of planting 10,000 trees at 15 identified locations and areas near the branches. A plan for planting 200 trees by each branch under Regional Office Chandigarh in, Panchkula, Ambala, Chandigarh (UT) & Yamuna Nagar districts. Under said Campaign, Tree Plantation Jan Abhiyan-2024 program was organized on 26.07.2024 at Green Belt, Sector 18C, Chandigarh. On this occasion, Smt. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh participated as the Chief Guest. On behalf of Union Bank of India, Zonal Head Mr. Manoj Kumar, Regional Head Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Deputy Zonal Head Mr. Anit T Zakaria, Deputy Regional Heads Mr. Laxman Kumar and Mr. Sachchida Nand Rai, Mr. Rajneesh Rohilla, Mr. Ajay Sharma and other senior officials also participated in this program. On this occasion, Mr. Manoj Kumar said that Chandigarh is already a green and beautiful city and through this tree plantation campaign, our bank, along with Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, is playing an active role in making the environment more clean, clear and healthy. Regional Head Mr. Sanjeev Kumar said that Union Bank of India is committed to give its active contribution in this initiative of tree plantation by the Government of India to create a clean and healthy environment and through this campaign, fruit and medicinal trees like Neem, Mango, Jamun etc. are being planted. To make the above campaign successful, coordination has been done with Gram Panchayat, Block Development Office and other local institutions. Apart from bank employees, customers, school children of various schools, senior citizens and government and non-government office personnel also participated in said campain.
