The student union elections of Panjab University and DAV College will be held on September 5. With only eight days left for the elections, student organizations have already started preparing for it. Meanwhile, Chandigarh Police has taken over the security arrangements of Panjab University and DAV College to ensure that there is no lapse in security arrangements and that there is no breakdown in law and order. The police have installed barricades at the three gates of the PU. Outsiders are not being allowed to enter the university. More than 100 policemen have been deployed for security. D.A.V. Police teams have also been deployed at the college.
The police have also instructed the student leaders not to disrupt law and order anywhere in view of the elections. The police clearly say that money and alcohol will not be distributed during the elections this time.
