Teej festival celebrated at Desh Bhagat Univeraity

The Teej Celebration at Desh Bhagat University was a vibrant and culturally enriching event that highlighted the traditions and festivities associated with Teej festival. The Department of Media and performing arts at Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh hosted a one-day event, 'Teej Fest 2024,' celebrating the vibrant cultural heritage of Punjab. The event, held with great enthusiasm and participation, showcased the rich traditions and artistic talents of the students.The festival featured a range of traditional activities and competitions like Mehandi Competition. In Mehndi Competition Komal Sharma of BAMS first, Simran, BA stood second and Kaushiki, BAMS achieved third position. The winner of the Miss Teej competition was Sarabjeet Kaur, BCA, who claimed the title, followed by Pooja Kumari, BCA as the 1st Runner-Up and Pooja Mehra, BCA as the 2nd Runner-Up. The event was convened by Dr. Sujeet Kaur Patheja, Head of Media Department whose dedicated efforts ensured its success. 'Teej Fest 2024' was a resounding success, bringing together students and faculty in a joyful celebration of Punjab’s rich cultural legacy. The event not only provided a platform for students to showcase their talents but also reinforced the university’s commitment to preserving and promoting cultural traditions. The Chief Guest Dr. Zora Singh Chancellor and the guest of honour Dr. Tajinder Kaur Pro-Chancellor and  Dr Virinder Singh advisor to Chancellor graced the occasion with their presence. In their inspiring addresses, they motivated the students to actively participate in such cultural events, emphasizing the importance of staying connected to their roots while excelling in their academic pursuits. At the end, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the management members and other attendees. He also extended his thanks to all the guests for their presence and offered special appreciation to the faculty members of the Department for their dedicated efforts in organizing the entire fest.
