Atishi will be the new Chief Minister of Delhi: Kejriwal proposed the name in the legislature party meeting

Education Minister Atishi Marlena will be the new Chief Minister of Delhi in the Kejriwal government. Arvind Kejriwal proposed his name in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislature party meeting on Tuesday.

Gopal Rai announced the name of Atishi. He said that we have taken this decision in difficult circumstances. Kejriwal's honesty was defamed, so he ran a public interest government from jail and came out and announced his resignation.

Kejriwal will submit his resignation to Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinay Saxena at 4:30 pm. The swearing in of the new CM and Cabinet will also take place this week. A 2-day assembly session has been called on 26 and 27 September.

After getting bail from the Supreme Court in the liquor policy case on September 13, Kejriwal had announced to step down from the post of Chief Minister on September 15. He had said, 'Now the public should decide whether I am honest or dishonest. If the public washes away the stain and wins the assembly elections, I will sit on the chair again.
