The Punjab and Haryana High Court has taken cognizance of the case of a youth committing suicide by taking away the pistol of the personal security officer of a judge who went to bow down at Harminder Sahib in Amritsar. The hearing of this matter was held today.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav appeared in the hearing through video conferencing. Meanwhile, the court said that this is a direct case of lapse in security, which is a serious matter. As far as the investigation of the Punjab Police has reached in this case, the court has called for a report from the police. Along with this, Chandigarh Police officers were also present during this.
The court said that the security of the judges should be increased. The court has asked the Chandigarh police to review the security of the judges. Along with this, the next hearing of this matter has been fixed on November 27.
