The Department of Sociology at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University organized a one-day field trip to Prabh Aasra NGO in Jhanjeri. The trip was part of the students' curriculum to enhance their understanding of various research methodologies. It aimed at sensitising students about the economic, social, and psychological challenges faced by individuals residing at the NGO. They also engaged in conversations with NGO staff and residents, gaining deeper insights into the hardships faced by marginalized communities. As part of this initiative, 32 students, accompanied by Assistant Professors Dr. Harmanpreet Kaur and Ekroop Kaur, visited the Prabh Aasra NGO in Jhanjeri. The fieldwork was conducted under the guidance of the Head of the Department, Dr. Nav Shagan Deep Kaur, who emphasized the importance of experiential learning in sociology. This visit provided students with practical knowledge, enriching their academic understanding of real-world challenges and the role of social institutions in addressing them.
