Chandigarh: Two children were burnt after being caught in the fire from the cylinder

Vikas Nagar In an accident on Thursday late evening, two children got burnt in the fire coming out of a small cylinder. 14-year-old Ankit's face has been badly burnt by the flames reaching his face. While 4-year-old Rishabh's face also got burnt. The child's hair has burned. Both were first taken to Sector-6 Panchkula Hospital from where Ankit was referred to GMCH Sector-32 in critical condition.

The incident took place around 7:55 in the evening, when the two children got caught in the fire from the cylinder while cooking fire in house number 1495 in Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran. People thought that the cylinder had exploded. The police control room was immediately informed. Apart from the police, the fire department's vehicle and an ambulance from the hospital etc. reached the spot. The children were sent to Sector-6 hospital by ambulance.

Mouli Jagra police station in-charge Hariom Sharma also arrived on the spot with his team. His family members said that the two children were sitting outside and setting fire to a small five-kilogram cylinder. During this time, the gas that came out of the cylinder burst into flames, and both the children got caught in it. At the same time, the people around say that both children were filling gas in small cylinders. During this time, he had lit a fire nearby. which reached the gas of the cylinder and caught fire.


People say that a person named Mukesh has opened a repairing and service center in house number 1495. In which bicycles, scooters, gas cylinders and other things are repaired. Big and small cylinders are filled here. Due to which this accident has happened. Mukesh is uncle of burnt child Ankit and father of four-year-old child Rishabh. People say that small cylinders are filled from big cylinders in many other houses around the incident site. Molly Jagra Police is investigating the entire case and both the children are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
