Moti Nagar/Chandigarh, January 17
As Delhi gears up for the upcoming Assembly elections, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led an electrifying roadshow in Moti Nagar in support of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Shiv Charan Goel. The event saw enthusiastic participation from residents, underscoring the immense support for AAP in the constituency.
Addressing the gathering, CM Bhagwant Mann urged voters to make February 5 a historic day for Delhi by ensuring a resounding victory for AAP. “Delhi is on the verge of writing history. Your overwhelming support has already shown that Shiv Charan Goel will emerge victorious. He is one of you and understands your struggles and aspirations,” Mann said.
Highlighting AAP’s governance achievements, Mann praised Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, stating, “Kejriwal has worked as your elder brother, not as a politician. Under his leadership, Delhi’s schools, hospitals, and infrastructure have been transformed. Women travel for free on buses, and common people get free electricity and water. This is the politics of work that AAP represents.”
Mann also drew parallels with Punjab’s governance under AAP, saying, “In Punjab, 90% of households receive zero electricity bills. Over 50,000 government jobs have been provided, without any bribe or favouritism, in less than three years. Mohalla Clinics, state-of-the-art hospitals, and excellent government schools are now a reality in Punjab. This shows that AAP delivers what it promises.”
Taking a jibe at the opposition, Mann remarked, “The BJP loves to chant slogans like ‘Abki Baar....’ everywhere, but they avoid saying it in Delhi because they know there’s no chance for them here. The Congress will also maintain its record of zero seats—they have nothing to lose.”
He further criticized the BJP for calling welfare schemes “freebies” while now promising cash benefits in their manifesto. “When Kejriwal provides relief to the people, they call it freebies. But when the BJP does it, they call it their duty. Let them call it whatever they want; the truth is, AAP works for the people and public welfare, not for personal gain.”
Mann encouraged voters to reject divisive and corrupt politics, adding, “Only the Aam Aadmi Party stands for development and honest governance. On February 5, press the broom button and don’t even look at other options.”
AAP candidate Shiv Charan Goel expressed his gratitude to the people of Moti Nagar and reaffirmed his commitment to addressing their concerns. He also thanked CM Mann for his support.
