Indian real estate market ready to meet global workspace demand: Report

As global firms recalibrate their footprints, India is braced for intensified demand — not just for space, but for future-ready, flexible environments that can deliver performance, resilience, and purposeful design in equal measure, a new report said on Monday.

Global corporates are targeting over 100 million square feet of new workspace as disruption drives new wave of real estate demand.

As many as 63 per cent of the corporate real estate leaders surveyed expressed concern about economic and geopolitical volatility. But instead of freezing decision-making, companies are taking action by building optionality into their space strategies, including shorter leases, more flexible formats, and locations that align with risk diversification and talent access, said the report by Knight Frank.

Two-wheeler sales poised to accelerate by 9 pc in FY 26: Report

India’s two-wheeler industry is poised to surpass pre-Covid sales levels in the financial year 2025-26, with an expected volume growth of 8-9 per cent, according to a CareEdge Ratings report released on Monday.

Key tailwinds such as easing inflation, higher disposable income driven by a full income tax rebate for individuals earning up to Rs 12 lakh per annum and a more accommodative monetary policy -- highlighted by the cumulative 100 bps rate cut by the RBI since February 2025 with recent 50 bps rate cut announced in June 2025 -- are set to boost consumer sentiment and affordability. A favourable monsoon could further strengthen the growth prospects, setting the stage for the industry volumes to surpass pre-Covid levels.

CareEdge Ratings notes that during the past three years, ending FY25, the Indian two-wheeler industry maintained healthy volume growth of 8 per cent, 10 per cent, and 11 per cent in FY23, FY24, and FY25, respectively.

Gujarat's reservoirs at 44.89 pc capacity amid monsoon delay

Gujarat faces a delay in monsoon and that has exacerbated concerns over depleting water levels across the state. With the monsoon yet to make landfall, the average water level in Gujarat’s 206 reservoirs has dipped to just 44.89 per cent, prompting renewed fears of a prolonged dry spell, as per officials.

Particularly alarming are the figures from Kutch, Saurashtra, and North Gujarat, where the water levels have fallen below 30 per cent.

Data show that 20 reservoirs in Kutch are currently at just 20.78 per cent capacity, 141 reservoirs in Saurashtra are at 28.47 per cent, and 15 in North Gujarat are at 29.56 per cent capacity.

While a handful of reservoirs still hold adequate water, the broader picture remains grim.
