Illustrating policy ambivalence, Trump now says he will 'get along with China'

Former US President Donald Trump has said that he will "get along well with China" and did not think that nations and others like Russia are the "enemies" that President Biden's administration considers them.

"I think we'll get along great with China," the Republican presidential candidate said on Monday during an online interview on X Spaces that again brought out his foreign policy ambivalence and his mercurial approach to policy.

The claim was in contrast to his threats to impose tariffs of 60 per cent or more on imports from China during his current campaign.

While he was President, he had accused China of "malfeasance" in causing the spread of Covid-19 and said that it had "raided our factories, offshored our jobs, gutted our industries, stole our intellectual property".

ISL 2024-25: FC Goa aim to start strong against Jamshedpur FC

ISL 2024-25: FC Goa aim to start strong against Jamshedpur FC

FC Goa will lock horns with Jamshedpur FC in their first Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 clash with the Gaurs aiming to extend their dominance over the Red Miners on Tuesday,

FC Goa ended the previous season in third position and missed out on a top-place finish by just three points. Under Manolo Marquez, the Gaurs will be determined to start their season with a win, like they have done on five occasions in the past.

Jamshedpur FC, under Khalid Jamil, would want to defeat FC Goa, a team against which they haven’t won in their previous four outings. The Red Miners are currently on a two-game losing streak, and another defeat would extend this poor run, reminiscent of their four-game losing streak last season.

"I will be taking things one game at a time. It's not a good thing to think too far ahead. Most of the opponents have a very different style. We need to approach the game correctly. We will be starting from zero and have to do the correct things to win the match, for sure," Marquez said in the pre-match press conference.

Russia 'invincible militarily', says Kazakh President in meeting with German Chancellor Scholz

Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev told visiting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Monday that Russia is "invincible militarily" and the consequences will be "very serious" for the entire mankind if the war escalates further.

Welcoming Scholz - the first head of the German government to visit Kazakhstan in 14 years - at the Akorda on Monday, Tokayev highlighted that the Central Asian country has the longest fenced land border with Russia in the world and, at the same time, Kazakhs hold "real respect" for the Ukrainian people and their culture.

"It is clear that Russia is invincible militarily. If the war escalates further, the consequences will be very serious for all mankind, first of all, for the states directly involved in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Unfortunately, Istanbul refused to ratify the agreement and missed the best opportunity to achieve reconciliation. However, there is still a chance for peace. All peaceful initiatives of various states should be carefully reviewed and an agreement on the cessation of hostilities should be reached," Tokayev was quoted as saying by the President's official press service during his meeting with the German Chancellor.
