In Maharashtra, extra marks are awarded to students excelling in sports and Jitesh, along with his friends, decided to go for the trials where his life changed completely.

“I was in 10th standard that year. I wanted to go for NDA. I was interested in the Air Force and Defence. In Maharashtra, if you represent in 10th or 12th standard, you get 25 marks, 4 percent extra.

“One day, my friend said, ‘Let’s do a cricket trial. We’ll get 4 percent extra.’ I said, okay. We went there and they were writing names on the register — who is a batsman, who is a bowler. The one with the least number of names was ‘wicketkeeper.’

GM Korea to increase vehicle production amid US tariff-related exit concerns

GM Korea, the South Korean unit of General Motors, plans to increase production at its Incheon plant by about 9 per cent this year, the company's labour union said on Wednesday, easing concerns over a potential withdrawal amid growing uncertainty over the United States' tariff policies.

According to the union, the company recently said it would allocate an additional 21,000 vehicles to the plant in Bupyeong, Incheon, west of Seoul, for production this year.

The increase amounts to nearly 9 per cent of the plant's annual production capacity of 250,000 units, reports news agency.

The move comes as speculation has grown about a possible exit of GM from South Korea in response to Washington's 25 per cent tariff on imported vehicles.

Maniesh Paul remembers buying the ticket for David Dhawan's film in black

From buying tickets for David Dhawan's film in black to being directed by him, life has truly come full circle for actor Maniesh Paul.

It might be exciting to know that years ago, Paul watched Dhawan's "Judwaa", starring Salman Khan at Delhi’s iconic Sapna Theatre, by getting tickets in black. The film left a lasting impression on him with its comedy, music, and Dhawan's trademark masala storytelling.

Like many film enthusiasts growing up in the '90s, Paul experienced cinema as a celebration, sometimes even going the extra mile to secure a seat for the biggest releases of the time. That memory has stayed with him — not just as a fan moment, but as a reminder of where it all began.

Turning back the clock, during a recent podcast, Paul said, "It was a very amazing feeling when David sir said me 'Action'. I was in 10th standard when 'Judwaa' released and I had purchased the ticket for the film in black at Sapna Theatre in Delhi. It was an experience watching David Sir's directorial on big-screen, getting tickets in black."

How BluSmart promoters diverted EV loans, bought flat in DLF Camellias

In a shocking revelation, Gensol Engineering Limited (GEL) promoters Anmol Singh Jaggi and Puneet Singh Jaggi have been found to be diverting funds meant for electric vehicle (EV) procurement to buy a luxury apartment in Gurugram's upscale residential project -- The Camellias by DLF.

The findings were part of an interim order issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on April 15, which has led to a major crackdown against Gensol Engineering Limited (GEL) and its promoters.

The SEBI has barred both Jaggi brothers from holding any directorship in the company and restricted them from accessing the securities market.

According to the regulator, loans taken to buy EVs for the ride-hailing service BluSmart were routed through multiple entities and ultimately used for personal gains.

Study finds common genetic variants linked to drug-resistant epilepsy

Study finds common genetic variants linked to drug-resistant epilepsy

Certain common genetic changes may explain why some people with focal epilepsy become less responsive to seizure medications, finds a new global study.

Focal epilepsy is a condition where seizures start in one part of the brain. It is the most common type of epilepsy.

Antiseizure medication is usually prescribed for people with the condition. However, for one in three people with epilepsy (around 20 million individuals worldwide), current antiseizure medications are ineffective. This means that people will continue to have seizures despite taking medication -- a condition called "drug resistance."

It is associated with additional significant health risks in epilepsy, including a higher risk of sudden unexpected death in epilepsy, alongside substantially higher healthcare costs.
