Former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori died at the age of 86 in Lima "after a long battle against cancer," confirmed his daughter and political leader Keiko Fujimori.

"Our father, Alberto Fujimori, has just departed to meet the Lord," Keiko wrote on X on Wednesday.

Jordan's Independent Election Commission Chairman Musa Maaytah announced preliminary results from the country's 20th parliamentary election.

Six staff members of the UN relief agency for Palestinians, known as UNRWA, were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said.

Israeli airstrikes hit a school-turned-shelter for around 12,000 people on Wednesday, and six UNRWA staff members were among those killed, Guterres said on X.

"What's happening in Gaza is unacceptable," he said. "These dramatic violations of international humanitarian law need to stop now."

At least six people died, and seven others were injured when a cargo truck going the wrong way collided head-on with a public transit minibus in western Bolivia, according to local authorities.

The accident occurred on Wednesday along a highway connecting the departments of La Paz and Oruro, 35 km from the city of La Paz, the departmental chief of police in La Paz, Edgar Cortez, told local media.

"Unfortunately, this accident has left six people dead, including minors, and several injured who were taken to nearby medical centres," said Cortez.

The minibus, which was headed to the city of La Paz, was carrying 13 people when the head-on collision occurred. The front of the bus was smashed, and the vehicle ran off the road, reports news agency.

The assault took place around 7:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday when suspects riding a motorcycle ambushed the workers, as they were arriving by car at a security checkpoint several meters from the prison entrance, reports.

The act of doxxing by releasing someone's personal information without consent will be made a criminal offence in Australia under new government privacy laws.

Mark Dreyfus, Australia's Attorney-General, on Thursday, introduced legislation to Parliament that would make doxxing illegal and entitle victims of serious invasions of privacy to seek compensation through the court system, news agency reported.

Under the laws, anyone found guilty of the malicious release of personal data online -- a practice known as doxxing -- will face jail time.

North Korea fired multiple short-range ballistic missiles toward the East Sea on Thursday, the South Korean military said, the first such launch since July 1.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said it detected the missiles fired off from the Pyongyang area at 7:10 a.m. It did not provide further details, such as how many missiles were fired and how far they flew, news agency reported.

"Our military has ramped up monitoring and vigilance against additional launches, while closely sharing information related to North Korean ballistic missiles with the U.S. and Japanese authorities," the JCS said in a text message to reporters.

Malaysia's natural rubber production increased by 27 per cent to 37,960 tonnes in July from 29,881 tonnes in June, official data showed Wednesday.

A year-on-year comparison showed that natural rubber production jumped 33 per cent from 28,533 tonnes a year ago.

Total stocks of natural rubber in July decreased by 7.6 per cent month on month to 148,096 tonnes.
