Chandigarh, 27th June, 2024

Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC), Chandigarh has been recognized as top performing for ICCC Maturity Assessment Framework (IMAF) 2.0: Cycle 1, among all smart cities. This recognition comes after an on-ground audit by the Quality Council of India (QCI).

The award was presented by Sh. Kunal Kumar IAS, Joint Secretary & Mission Director, Smart Cities Mission, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs during Smart Cities CEOs Conference on Data & Technology held today at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

The goal of IMAF 2.0 is to help cities understand their strengths and areas for growth, fostering innovation and excellence in smart city governance. IMAF 2.0 expands on the first version, now evaluating ICCCs on ten pillars instead of four. These pillars cover critical aspects of smart city management, helping cities identify areas for improvement and maximize the use of their ICCC infrastructure. The assessment includes a self-assessment by the city and an on-ground audit by QCI.

Ms. Anindita Mitra IAS, Chief Executive Officer of Chandigarh Smart City Limited, expressed pride in sharing that the ICCC of Chandigarh Smart City has secured the top position in the Cyber Security Pillar. Among the 10 pillars of IMAF 2.0, Chandigarh ranks within the top 10 in 6 pillars. According to the ICCC Maturity Index (IMI), Chandigarh has achieved the 3rd position. Ms. Mitra expressed confidence that Chandigarh is well-positioned to maintain its leadership, aiming to secure the top position in the upcoming cycle as well.

ICCC Chandigarh has become the nerve centre of the city, enhancing monitoring capabilities and enabling continuous data analysis. This has led to more effective decision-making by city leaders, increased situational awareness, and quicker responses to incidents and emergencies. It has also improved interdepartmental coordination and enhanced communication with various stakeholders, including citizens, aiding in real-time urban planning and daily operations.
