Chandigarh, 12 July
Deputy Commissioner Chandigarh Vinay Partap Singh today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day- 2024.
In the meeting, it was informed that the main function would be held at Parade Ground, Sector 17 where the national flag will be unfurled. The meeting finalized coordination between different departments so as to ensure smooth and error free conduct of national event.
DC took stock of arrangements and other facilities like seating arrangement, transport & parking facilities, electricity & water supply, medical aid, fire. Besides media management, security-related matters and cultural performances were discussed. The DC directed all the concerned departments to make arrangements for I-Day Celebration. He asked the security agencies to ensure fool proof security at the venue.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, SDM (East), SDM( South), SDM (Central), Director Public Relations, DSP Security & Traffic along with other officers from Engineering, MC were also present in the meeting.
