DGP Punjab informed that in an intelligence operation under a special operation launched before Independence Day, the State Special Operation Cell, Amritsar has busted a cross-border smuggling module by nabbing Rajwant Singh alias Raju. They said that the accused was in touch with a Pakistan-based smuggler, who was sending large consignments of arms and narcotics into Indian territory through drones and other means. According to the information, an FIR has been lodged against the accused at Amritsar. has been registered and further inquiries are being made to find out the previous smuggling activities of the accused. 2 pistols along with 2 magazines have also been recovered from the possession of Rajwant Singh.
