Chandigarh, August 12
A hearing was held in the Supreme Court in the case of opening the Shambhu border. The court directed the Punjab and Haryana DGPs to hold a meeting with the SPs of the adjoining districts within a week to partially reopen the roads on the Shambhu border.
The Haryana government has challenged the Punjab and Haryana High Court in the Supreme Court in the matter of opening the Shambhu border. A hearing on this matter was held in the court on Monday. The Punjab and Haryana governments have given names in the court to form a separate committee in this matter.
The Supreme Court has asked for the partial opening of the Shambhu border. Ordered to open highways for ambulances, elderly, women, students etc. The court said that one lane will be opened from both sides. Also, the police officers of Punjab and Haryana have been asked to hold a meeting in this regard within a week and decide the outline. The next hearing by the Supreme Court will be held on August 22
