Taking the issue of security in PGI seriously, a task force has been constituted after the orders of the Supreme Court. According to the PGI administration, five sub-committees will work under this task force.
Each committee includes doctors, paramedical staff, technical staff, nursing officers and office bearers of various employee unions of the organization. This committee will suggest to the PGI administration to strengthen the security arrangements and will also review from time to time.
Under this, the safety of all the employees working in the hospital as well as the transgender community will be evaluated at every level. Along with this, keeping in mind the safety of women employees, it has been decided to install an emergency alert system on every floor in every building. The control of this system will be with the Medical Superintendent and the Chief Security Officer.
