Chandigarh, 11 September
Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh today issued directions to SDMs & Joint Commissioner MC to inspect 79 unrecognized schools in Chandigarh and act on them as per building rules & fire safety act to ensure safety of children studying in these schools. DC has asked SDMs & Jt. Commissioner MC to submit action taken report in 3 weeks. Education Dept had shared list of 79 schools with DC office & MC for action on these schools. Education Dept has informed that they will ensure that children studying in these unrecognized schools are given proper opportunity for education in nearest possible schools if their current unrecognized schools are closed down.
