Industrial Visit to Verka Milk Plant Organized by the Department of Food Processing Technology

The Department of Food Processing Technology of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organised an industrial visit to Verka Milk Plant, Bassi Pathana. The visit aimed to provide students with practical experience to enhance their understanding of the industrial processes and technology used in the production and packaging of food products. The visit was led by the Department Incharge, Dr. Rupinder Pal Singh, and included students from the B.Tech. and M.Sc. Food Processing Technology programs. Faculty members Harmandeep Kaur and Komalpreet Kaur also accompanied the students. During the visit, the students were introduced to the company's profile, its working process, the products offered, and the quality standards and certifications maintained by Verka. Assistant Manager, Anantdeep Singh provided detailed insights into each step of the production process, the quality assurance measures, and the equipment used in the plant. Vice Chancellor, Dr. Pritpal Singh, praised the Department’s initiative in combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills. He congratulated the department on their efforts and encouraged them to continue organizing such visits in the future to further enhance students’ practical knowledge.
