Celebration of National Space Day 2024 at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University

The Department of Physics of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib in collaboration with the Centre for Scientific Research and Innovation Cell (CSRI) of the University, organized a vibrant exhibition and poster-making competition to commemorate National Space Day. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of M.Sc. (Hons) Physics, B.Sc. (Hons) Physics, B.Sc. (Hons) Mathematics, and B.Sc. (Non-medical) programs, and the faculty members of the Department.
The event began with an inspiring address by Dr. Preet Kaur, Head of the Department. She emphasized the importance of celebrating National Space Day. She highlighted India’s remarkable achievements in space exploration, underlining how these accomplishments have positioned the nation as a leader in the global scientific community. Dr. Kaur’s talk was followed by a documentary which provided a captivating overview of India’s space journey. 
Poster-making competition was organized on the theme "Touching Lives while Touching the Moon: India's Space Saga." Students showcased their creativity and deep understanding of the subject. Dr. Rahul Badru and Dr. Monika Airi, Members of CSRI Cell, adjudged the posters. Gurpreet Kaur won the first prize, while Arshpreet Kaur and Navjot Kaur shared the second prize. Kashish stood third. Dr. Tejbir Singh, Chairman of the CSRI Cell, was the guest of honor. Dr. Singh congratulated the students for their active participation and lauded the quality of the work presented. 
Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the University congratulated the winners for their remarkable accomplishments. He emphasized the importance of such events in fostering scientific temper and innovation among students.
