Desh Bhagat University Celebrates Engineers' Day with Inspirational Events and Awards

Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, celebrated Engineers' Day with an array of engaging events honoring the achievements and contributions of engineers within the university and beyond. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, and Dr. TajinderKaur, Pro-Chancellor. The festivities included a keynote address by Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President, who highlighted the transformative impact of engineering innovations on global challenges. The day featured workshops and panel discussions on topics such as sustainable engineering practices and advancements in artificial intelligence. A key highlight was the presentation of awards for various student activities, including Display working projects, poster presentations and declamation competitions. The award-winning students were: Project Display Competition: 1st Prize:Preeti Singh and Karan Kumar (B.Tech 7th Sem), 2nd Prize: Krishna, Faizan Khan, and Bhola Kumar (Diploma 5th Sem), 3rd Prize:Ikhtiyar Ahmed (B.Tech ME 5th Sem). Poster Presentation on the Theme "Engineering Solutions for a Sustainable World": 1st Prize:Roshini (B.Tech CSE 3rd Sem), 2nd Prize:Rajveer Singh (Diploma 3rd Sem, Electrical Engineering), 3rd Prize:SushantSaj (B.Tech Civil Engineering), Declamation Competition: 1st Prize:Khushi Aggarwal (B.Tech 3rd Sem), 2nd Prize:Simaran (B.Tech CSE 7th Sem), 3rd Prize:Mirriam Kajima (B.Tech Civil Engineering 5th Sem). This program was organised by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The event also honored Mokshagundum Visvesvaraya, a pioneering figure in engineering, for his significant contributions to the field. The day concluded with a networking reception, providing attendees an opportunity to connect and discuss future opportunities in engineering. Dr. Khushboo Bansal, Deputy Director, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all participants and contributors.
