World Bamboo Day Celebrated by DBU Agrim Club

Agrim Club of Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Swachh Bharat/ Unnat Bharat Cell of Desh Bhagat University, celebrated World Bamboo Day. It is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of bamboo and promoting its use in sustainable development. The day highlights bamboo's versatility, its benefits for the environment and its role in poverty alleviation, carbon sequestration, and reducing deforestation.
The World Bamboo Organization (WBO) encourages communities, industries and governments to recognize the potential of bamboo for sustainable living. It is an opportunity to inspire global action towards creating a greener, more sustainable future using this remarkable plant. With the kind approval and blessings of authority, the event was celebrated with the Debate competition, Posters making Competition and  Rangoli Competition. In total, 20 student (B.Sc. And M.Sc.) and 10 faculty members have participated in the Event. The competition was judged by Prof. H K Sidhu, Dr. Surjeet Patheja and Dr. Rajni Saluja.  Prof. H K Sidhu has delivered a presentation on Importance of Bamboo for rural and urban people. One international student of
B.Sc. Agriculture 2nd year Kingston JR Alexander K has also shared his views on Bamboo Importance and its uses. All students have enjoyed the event and enhanced their knowledge through posters and lectures.
