The Department of Food Processing Technology of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (SGGSWU) successfully organized an inter-department Salad Making Competition to celebrate the 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month). The event, held in collaboration with the Aahar Kranti initiative, aimed to raise awareness about healthy eating habits among students. The event theme "Super Foods Power" encouraged students to create healthy and tasty salads using nutritious ingredients. Twenty eight teams from eight different departments of the university participated in the competition. Dr. Harneet Billing (Head & Assistant Professor Education) and Dr. Monika Airi (Assitant Professor Zoology) judged the presentations on the basis of taste, presentation, and nutritional value. The Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Prit Pal Singh awarded the winners and shared his views about the importance of healthy eating habits. Dr. S.S. Billing, Dean Academic Affairs of the University appreciated the efforts of the participants and the organizers for promoting nutritional awareness through this engaging platform.
Dr. Rupinder Pal Singh, Incharge of the Department shared that the event aimed to promote awareness about healthy food choices among students. He appreciated the efforts of whole department of food processing technology students and faculty members Ms. Komalpreet Kaur, Ms. Harmandeep Kaur, Ms. Prabhjeet Kaur, Mr. Harmeet Singh and Dr. Ramanjeet Kaur (from Education Department).
