Students of Agriculture program from RIMT University's School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SAST) recently visited Jandali village. The tour was accompanied by two faculty members, Dr. R.S. Sarlach and Dr. Jaish Garg. Organized under the Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) program, the visit aimed to facilitate meaningful interaction between students and local farmers, focusing on the wheat-paddy crop system. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Juneja, Dean of Agricultural Sciences, stated, "During the visit, students engaged with local farmers, sharing suggestions for improved crop production and soil health management. Farmers discussed their challenges and successes, leading to a knowledge exchange on suitable agricultural technologies." The students also visited Nagra Animal Feed Industry, gaining insights into animal nutrition and its impact on agricultural productivity. They understood the animal feed production process and its effects on animal health and farming profitability. Participating students remarked, "This experience was invaluable. It allowed us to connect theoretical knowledge with practical farming practices and understand current challenges faced by farmers." This visit demonstrates the Agriculture program's commitment to imparting practical skills and fostering collaboration between education and local agricultural communities.
