Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Collaborates with Haemophilia Society of Patiala

The Haemophilia Society of Patiala organized a Special Lecture and Physiotherapy Camp at the Senior Citizen’s Club in Patiala, in collaboration with the Department of Physiotherapy, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib on September 19, 2024 (Thursday).  Dr. Pankajpreet Singh, Head, Department of Physiotherapy, and Dr. Supreet Bindra, Assistant Professor attended the event with their team. Kamaljit Singh, Head of Patiala Unit of Haemophilia Society, provided valuable information about haemophilia to the attendees.
Dr. Pankajpreet Singh provided valuable insights into various health conditions that commonly affects the elderly. He emphasized the significance of understanding these diseases and shared essential information on critical issues such as fall prevention among the elderly. Dr. Singh also highlighted the vital role of physiotherapy in mitigating the risk of falls and maintaining joint health as individual’s growing age. He also offered important guidance and advice regarding available treatment options tailored to the needs of the participants. During the event, Dr. Supreet Bindra conducted thorough check-ups and provided guidance and treatment to patients in the physiotherapy camp. 
Additionally, the event featured contributions from Dr. Jatin Mittal of New Life Physiotherapy Centre in Model Town, Patiala, and Brinder Juneja from A.K. Enterprise City Centre, Patiala, who actively participated in the program. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Pritpal Singh commended the department for its unwavering commitment to enhancing community health and well-being. He noted that the proactive approach of the faculty and students in addressing healthcare needs exemplifies the university's mission to foster social responsibility among its graduates.
