"World Tourism Day” celebrated at Desh Bhagat University

The School of Hotel Management & Tourism in Desh Bhagat University celebrated ‘World Tourism Week’ as a series of two-day events. On the occasion of ‘World Tourism Day’, Mehndi Art, Slogan Writing, and poster-making competitions were organized. All the students participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. Students prepared mehndi designs and posters depicting the inclusive nature of tourism. The theme of the day was ‘Tourism and Peace’. On this occasion, “Bollywood Theme Lunch" was prepared and served by Amritpal, Harpreet, Mandeep, Charnajeet, Seema, Jaspreet, Yashpreet, and Gurdas, the team of students.The Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh was the chief guest, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor was the guest of honour and H.E.Mr.Vit Jedlicka, President of the Republic of Liberland. Kasak were declared winner in mehndi competition and Kajal were declared winner in poster making competition, while Amandeep Kaur and Manpreet Kaur were declared runner-ups in poster making competition. In slogan writing Charanpreet Kaur was declared winner and Tanmay was declared runner up. While addressing the students Dr. Zora Singh said, “Tourism and Hospitality industry were fastest growing industry on today’s time. This will generate numerous opportunities for employment for students going forward”. Dr. Tajinder Kaur said, “Tourism connects people from around the globe. One must travel to explore this beautiful world”. Dr. Aman Sharma addressed the students before the competition and motivated them to participate in such events to have leadership skills.
