The 354th birth anniversary of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur was celebrated at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib.The ceremonies began on October 8 with the recitation of Sri Sahaj Path Sahib Ji, which was performed by the college students and staff. Prabhat Pheris (morning processions) were also taken out by the college staff and students.
Today, Granthi Sahib Bhai Gurjant Singh Ji of Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib performed the Bhog ceremony of Sri Sahaj Path Sahib Ji, followed by Ardas. Hazoori Ragi Bhai Inderpal Singh Ji from Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib then performed kirtan, and Bhai Jagtar Singh Ji delivered a sermon.The annual ceremony was attended by students, staff, and prominent personalities, including Professor Kirpal Singh Badungar, former President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee; Jathedar Jagdeep Singh Cheema, National General Secretary of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib; and Advocate Amardeep Singh Dhillon, President of the Bar Association of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib. Dr. Lakhvir Singh, Principal of the college, thanked and honored the participants. Jagdeep Singh Cheema expressed gratitude to the gathering and highlighted the significance of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur's contributions to Punjab's history. He said that Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, with the blessings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, shook the foundations of the Mughal Empire in Punjab and brought about economic and social reforms.The ceremony concluded with Langar (community kitchen) being served.Prominent agricultural scientist, Charanjit Singh Sodhi, who has also worked with the UN, was among the attendees. Advocate Amardeep Singh Dhillon emphasized the importance of learning from such personalities.The college staff and students contributed wholeheartedly to the celebrations.This event showcased the college's commitment to preserving Punjab's rich history and cultural heritage.
