In commemoration of National Chemistry Week, Department of Chemistry, Sri Guru Granth Sahib University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized a vibrant poster-making competition centered around the theme "Picture Perfect Chemistry” purposed by ACS for year 2024. The event aimed at fostering an appreciation for Chemistry and its impact on our daily lives while encouraging creativity among participants. The event attracted students and Chemistry enthusiasts from various departments, showcasing their artistic talents and understanding of Chemistry principles. Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Dean Academic Affairs Dr. S. S. Billing, and Registrar Dr. Tejbir Singh interacted with participants and appreciated them for their efforts. The participants demonstrated exceptional creativity, employing a variety of materials and techniques to create their posters. The artwork depicted various aspects of Chemistry, from photography, CT scans, MRI scan, Ultrasound imaging, Radar transmission which are used on routine basis. Dr. Charan Kamal Sekhon and Dr. Monika Airi from Department of Zoology evaluated the posters based on creativity, scientific accuracy, and overall presentation.
Dr. Rahul Badru, head of the department, appreciated the enthusiastic participation by the students from various streams in National Chemistry Week celebration. He said that the 'Picture Perfect Chemistry' theme truly reflects the intricate and beautiful world of Chemistry, and that he hoped that events like this inspire a greater interest towards the science in young minds.
