The Diwali celebrations at school often mean a festive look with diyas and lanterns adorning the school. Desh Bhagat Global School, Mandi Gobindgarh celebrated Diwali. The school was fully decorated with lights, candles and artwork from eco-friendly products. The activities conducted on this day permeate the school premises with an atmosphere of togetherness and hope. The main attraction of the day was Anti Cracker Rally. It was flagged off by School Chairman, Dr. Zora Singh at adjoining village Saunti in which students from grades 7th to 9th appealed the people to shun crackers and celebrate Green Diwali with raising slogans like "Don't burst the crackers and help mother earth." Students prepared placards, banners and slogans for the same. To mark the celebration, the activities included Diya Colouring and Decorating Greeting Card Making, Pot Decoration,Paper Lamp/Lantern Making. Apart from it, Inter house Competitions like Rangoli making and Best Classroom Decoration were held for classes IX to XII. Students brought festive food items with them. The stunning design of rangolis were alluring and fascinated the spectators. The students proved that their creativity and talent do not have boundaries. They celebrated the festival of Diwali with great enthusiasm. The celebration ended with a speech by the Principal Mrs Indu Sharma who expressed her deep concern about the environment and advised the students to celebrate Green Diwali.The School Chairman, Dr. Zora Singh and general secretary Dr.Tajinder Kaur congratulated to all students, parents and teachers and wished that festival of lights brings prosperity in lives of all.
