Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University celebrated the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji with great enthusiasm. The two-day event commenced with a blood donation camp inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Pritpal Singh. The camp was successfully organized by a dedicated team from Dr. Surjit Singh Super Specialty Hospital, Ropar, led by Dr. Surinder Singh (BTO) and his medical staff.Additionally, the Physiotherapy Department organized a free physiotherapy camp. The camp was facilitated by Dr. Pankajpreet Singh (HOD, Physiotherapy), Dr. Supreet Bindra, Dr. Gurmanpreet Kaur (PT), Dr. Gaganpreet Kaur (PT), Dr. Aakriti Jain (PT), Dr. Rishu Kansal (PT), and Dr. Komalpreet Kaur (PT), serving around 60 patients who received personalized consultations and treatment. Apart from these camps, a cleanliness drive was organized by the NSS wing of the University. Dr. Harneet Billing, Head of the Education Department, mentioned that the drive aimed to instill the importance of cleanliness in the students' lives.On the second day, after the bhog of Sehaj Paath of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the faculty and students of the Music Department sing hymns from Sri Guru Granth Sahib in the Kirtan Darbar. The students also performed Kavishri on Guru's life. Dr. Kirandeep, Assistant Professor in the Department of Religious Studies, addressed the gathering, sharing her insights on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s philosophy. She highlighted the contemporary relevance of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings and encouraged students to integrate these principles into their lives. She expressed her happiness that the University is committed to spreading Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings among the youth, inspiring them toward spirituality and collective well-being. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Pritpal Singh congratulated the students and faculty and motivated them to draw strength and inspiration from Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life and teachings. He emphasized the University's dedication to promoting the messages enshrined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and also congratulated the team on achieving record-breaking admissions this session. Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Academic Affairs, encouraged the students to embrace Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s philosophy, particularly the concepts of inclusivity and universal well-being. He noted that the entire event was skillfully managed under the leadership of Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Sikander Singh. Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Dean Research; Dr. Tejbir Singh, Registrar; department heads; faculty members; and students of the university took blessings of the almighty.
