Solid waste management work completed in 252 villages: Dr. Sona Thind

A meeting of the District Water Sanitation Mission, Fatehgarh Sahib, was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sona Thind at the District Administrative Complex, during which the Deputy Commissioner disclosed that the work of solid and liquid waste management in 54 villages of the district has been completed, and now these villages have come under the category of model villages. Apart from this, work related to solid waste management has been completed in 252 villages, and work is in progress in the remaining villages. Work for liquid waste management is also going on rapidly in the villages. Whereas the construction of common "toilets" has been completed in 29 villages and these will be completed soon in the remaining 62 villages. Members of various departments also attended the meeting, and during this, the approval of the works to be done under Swachh Bharat Mission Rural Phase-2 in the villages of the district was given by the Deputy Commissioner with the consent of the members present. Discussions were held regarding the ongoing development works in the villages so that these projects can be completed on time. The Deputy Commissioner said that the work of one of the plastic waste management units, which are to be built in every block, is in progress, while the rest of the projects will be started soon. The construction of individual toilets for the needy poor families in the district is also going on rapidly. In the meeting, Ishan Kaushal Executive Engineer, Jaspreet Kaur District Development and Panchayat Officer, Shri Gautam Jindal SDE, Nirmal Kumar JE, Dr. Rajesh Kumar DHO, Dr. Meena Rani ADO, Jaswinder Singh, Karanvir Singh JE, Nirmal Singh Range Officer, Rajinder Singh Accountant, Shamsher Singh, and Amandeep Arora were present.
