The School of Nursing, Desh Bhagat University, in collaboration with the Community Health Centre (CHC), Amloh, Organized Awareness Rally to Commemorate World AIDS Day with great enthusiasm and commitment.
This year's theme for World AIDS Day was “Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right”. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Lajinder Verma, Senior Medical Officer (SMO), CHC Amloh; Prof. (Dr) Lovesampuranjot Kaur, Principal, School of Nursing; and Prof. (Dr) Prabhjot Singh, Head of Department, Community Health Nursing.
The program commenced with a rally from the college campus to Amloh, where students and faculty actively participated in spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS. The rally witnessed the participation of B.Sc. Nursing 1st Semester and GNM 1st Year students, who raised impactful slogans to disseminate the importance of AIDS awareness, prevention, and the right to health.
The event was graced by Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President of Desh Bhagat University, who marked the occasion and encouraged the students for their efforts in addressing critical public health issues. To further commemorate the day, a poster-making competition was also held. Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor and Dr Tajinder Kaur Pro-Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, applauded the dedication and hard work of the students and faculty. He highlighted the importance of such events in educating the youth and empowering communities to take proactive measures against the spread of HIV/AIDS.
