Establishment of Baba Zorawar Singh Baba Fateh Singh Lab for Differently Abled Children at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University

In a significant step toward fostering inclusivity and support for differently abled children, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, proudly announces the establishment of the Baba Zorawar Singh Baba Fateh Singh Lab in the Department of Physiotherapy. This state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to the treatment and rehabilitation of differently abled children, providing them with advanced tools and physiotherapies to enhance their abilities and quality of life. The initiative has been made possible through the untiring efforts of Advocate Amardeep Singh Dharni, President of the Bar Council, Fatehgarh Sahib. His commitment to the cause of serving humanity has been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition. Adding to this noble cause, Surjeet Singh Mavi, along with Amreek Singh Tiwana, Gursimer Singh, and Gurbeer Singh Dharni, from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, have generously contributed equipment worth ₹7 lakh to the lab. Their shared vision of working for the betterment of society and their deep commitment to the development of the university have played a pivotal role in the realization of this project. By supporting this initiative, Surjeet Singh Mavi, Amreek Singh Tiwana, Gursimer Singh, and Gurbeer Singh Dharni have set an inspiring example of how diaspora communities can contribute to their roots while making a lasting impact on the lives of many. Their active role in this project has been instrumental in its realization, paving the way for the Baba Zorawar Singh Baba Fateh Singh Lab to serve as a beacon of hope and progress for children with special needs.
The Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Prit Pal Singh, expressed his pride in the establishment of the lab, stating that it underscores the University's commitment to serving society and upholding values of equality and compassion. He thanked Advocate Amardeep Singh Dharni and Surjeet Singh Mavi for their commendable efforts and contributions, emphasizing that the lab would be a source of hope and progress for differently abled children in the region. The Dean Academic Affairs of the University Prof. Sukhwinder Singh Billing, highlighted the importance of the lab as a symbol of collective responsibility towards inclusivity. He noted that the initiative marked a significant milestone in the University’s mission to integrate service and education for empowering underprivileged communities. Giani Harpal Singh ji, Head Granthi, Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib appreciated the efforts of the Physiotherapy Department. Dr. Pankaj Preet Singh, Head Department of Physiotherapy shared that the Baba Zorawar Singh Baba Fateh Singh Lab is a testament to the power of community-driven efforts in addressing critical social needs. He informed that this lab will soon begin its operations, benefiting children from Fatehgarh Sahib and neighboring areas, providing them with a beacon of hope and opportunities for a better future. Dr. Ankdeep Kaur Attwal, Coordinator, Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the University and S. Gurdeep Singh Kang Manager, Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib also graced the occasion.
