Centre for Scientific Research and Innovation at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib (CSRI-SGGSWU) organized one day workshop on 'Tech Startup Connect & Grow' in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) on Jan 28, 2025. The aim of the workshop was to motivate and inspire girl students, female researchers and women entrepreneurs in Punjab and to make them aware of the funding schemes in this direction. Dr. Tejbir Singh, Chairman, CSRI-SGGSWU welcomed the dignitaries and participants. Dr. Dapinder Kaur Bakshi, Joint Director, Research Innovation and Startup Facilitation Division, PSCST, Chandigarh was the guest of honour for the workshop. She discussed the importance and success of previous Women Entrepreneurship Program under SHE (Startups’ Handholding and Empowerment) initiatives. She also told that this is the first workshop under SHE cohort 3.0 of PSCST in the region. Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Vice Chancellor of University presented presidential address during the workshop and emphasized that Women Entrepreneurship is the need of the time. Eminent speakers including Paramjit Singh, Director, Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (RCED), Dr. Balbir Singh, Ex-Vice President, NITCON, Dr. Supreet Bindra, Founder, Samrat Physiocare and Rhythm Gandhi, Founder, Granny’s Care shared their views with the audience. The speakers motivated the participants for intiating their start-ups and stressed that they should not fear to face new challenges and risks. More than two hundred faculty members and students from the University and nearby institutes such as RIMT University, Mata Gujri College, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College and AS College, Khanna participated in the event.
Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Research, Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Dr. Deepak Kapoor Sr. Scientist, PSPCT and Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Scientist, PSPCT graced the occasion and congratulated the organisers for the successful conduct of the workshop. Dr. Rupinder Kaur, Head of Biotechnology department and Convener of the workshop presented formal vote of thanks. During the workshop, various stalls by the start-ups and incubation centre of the University were presented, which enhances the interest and motivational level of all the participants.
