Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Organises a Seminar on Patent Filing

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, successfully organized a seminar on "Navigating the Path of Innovation: A Comprehensive Guide to Patent Filing." The seminar featured Ruchi Singla, Director & CEO of RAS Intellect Solutions Pvt. Ltd., as the keynote speaker. She shared her expertise on patent filing procedures, legal aspects, and strategies for securing intellectual property rights in various fields.The event began with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Arora, Director, IQAC, who highlighted the significance of intellectual property in academia and industry. He emphasized that greater awareness of patents could drive innovation and enhance the research ecosystem within the university.Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Prit Pal Singh acknowledged the efforts of IQAC in organizing the seminar and stressed the importance of patents in safeguarding innovations and promoting research-driven solutions. He stated that universities should actively participate in intellectual property generation to contribute to national and global advancements. Dr. Tejbir Singh, Registrar of the University shared that understanding the legal and procedural aspects of patents would encourage innovation and ensure effective utilization of intellectual property.
 
Dr. Ankdeep Kaur Attwal, Coordinator, IQAC, while interacting with the media, explained that the seminar was aimed at creating awareness about patent filing among researchers, faculty, and students. The seminar witnessed active participation from the faculty members, researchers, and students, who engaged in discussions on the significance of patents in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. The event provided valuable insights for academicians and innovators looking to protect their research and technological advancements.IQAC members, including Dr. Rahul Badru, Head of the Chemistry Department; Dr. Nav Shagan Deep Kaur, Head of the Sociology Department; Dr. Kanchan Garg, Assistant Professor in Commerce and Management; and Dr. Monika Airi, Assistant Professor in Zoology were also present at the seminar, reaffirming the University’s commitment to research and quality assurance. The event was meticulously organized by Dr. Richa Brar, Head of the Mathematics Department and Dr. Supreet Bindra, Assistant Professor in Physiotherapy, who played a significant role in ensuring its success.The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Navdeep Kaur, Dean Research, who expressed gratitude to Ruchi Singla for her insightful presentation and acknowledged the enthusiastic participation of attendees. She reiterated the university’s dedication to fostering an ecosystem of research, innovation, and intellectual property awareness.
