In a resplendent celebration of academic triumph and aspirational fervor, DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, held its Annual Convocation Ceremony under the visionary stewardship of Principal Dr. Mona Narang, Registrar Dr. Ghanshyam Dev, and Deputy Registrar Dr. Navneet K. Pruthi. The occasion was graced by Hon’ble Governor of Haryana, Shri Bandaru Dattatraya, whose dignified presence elevated the event to a realm of both inspiration and gravitas.
In his eloquent address, the Hon’ble Governor invoked the spirit of nation-building, urging the youth to rise beyond mediocrity and inscribe their excellence upon global landscapes—be it in entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, or the noble pursuit of societal transformation. Degrees were conferred upon meritorious students across the Faculties of Arts, Commerce, and Science, with Deans Dr. Aarti Sharma, Dr. Sarika Mehandru and Dr. Neena Sharma bestowing the honours upon the graduates. Amidst cheers, applause, and heartfelt moments, a total of 944 degrees were conferred. Out of 944 students, 480 were female students and 464 were male students who were conferred degrees reflecting the institution’s ongoing commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable education.
A total of 596 students received their Undergraduate degrees, marking the successful completion of foundational studies in Arts, Commerce, and Science. Meanwhile, 348 students were conferred Postgraduate degrees, recognizing their advanced academic achievements and specialized pursuits in higher education.Proudly adorned in newly designed convocation attire, blending tradition with contemporary elegance, the graduates embodied the spirit of DAV—resilient, rooted, and ready to rise.
The atmosphere pulsed with joy, nostalgia, and the click of cameras, as students captured fleeting moments of camaraderie, dreams, and farewells. With their eyes set on distant horizons, they stepped out as torchbearers of change, infused with purpose and the unrelenting drive to make a difference.
A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the Annual Report by Principal Dr. Mona Narang, chronicling the Institution’s milestones, academic innovations, and community contributions. Special mention was made of Olympic medallists Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh, proud alumni whose journeys illuminate the boundless potential of DAVians.
In her stirring address, Dr. Mona Narang urged graduates to become lifelong learners and resilient warriors in the battlefield of life. Registrar Dr. Ghanshyam Dev reaffirmed the college’s unwavering commitment to nurturing leaders of tomorrow through innovation, vision, and value-based education.
Sarabjot Singh, the celebrated Bronze Medalist at the Paris Olympic Games 2024 and a proud recipient of the Arjuna Award, was conferred the Master’s Degree in Public Administration amidst thunderous applause. In recognition of his exceptional contribution to sports and his unwavering dedication to excellence, he was further adorned with multiple accolades: the coveted Best Sportsperson of the Year Trophy, the prestigious College Award of Honour, the distinguished College Colour, and a cash award of Rs. 25,000. His presence lent an air of national pride to the academic grandeur of the day.
Equally inspiring was the honouring of Gauri Sheoran, the dynamic shooter who clinched Gold at the World University Games 2022. She received her Master’s Degree in Sociology, embodying the perfect confluence of athletic prowess and academic achievement.
