Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has given a fitness update on Phil Foden, saying the England star is closing on a Manchester City return after missing the last three games with illness.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who has been absent for the past three weeks due to illness, missed City’s clashes with Ipswich, West Ham, and Brentford. Foden had originally been named in England’s squad for their games against the Republic of Ireland and Finland, before he was forced to withdraw, alongside Cole Palmer and Ollie Watkins.

"He didn’t train too many sessions. Step by step. I am delighted he is back. We need him desperately and it’s important for us that he is back. He has trained this week. The game was tight, and I decided to use other options," Guardiola was quoted by Man City website.

The historical drama television series ‘Shogun’ dominated the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards as it registered a total of 18 total Emmys this year (14 at the Creative Arts Emmys, 4 during the main ceremony including the Best Drama Series, Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Directing for a Drama Series.

Kenyan police said they have beefed up security across the country amid fresh threats from terrorists.

Resila Onyango, National Police Service (NPS) spokesperson, reassured the public of their safety following credible warnings that al-Shabab militants are planning fresh attacks in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi and other cities across the East African country, according to news agency.

Onyango said in a statement issued Saturday night in Nairobi that police officers deployed nationwide remain alert to protect the country, which has faced increased terror threats from al-Shabab.

IT services major Infosys on Monday announced a collaboration with the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India to further enhance its digital transformation.

Indian equity indices opened with gains on Monday, tracking American markets as investors expect a rate cut by the US Fed that further boosts market sentiment.

At 9:44 a.m., Sensex was up 258 points or 0.31 per cent at 83,149 and Nifty was up 81 points or 0.32 per cent at 25,437.

In an early trading session, Sensex and Nifty both made a new all-time high of 83,184 and 24,445.

Buying was also seen in midcap and smallcap stocks. Nifty midcap 100 index was 300 points or 0.50 per cent at 60,334 and Nifty smallcap 100 index was 69 points or 0.36 per cent at 19,575.

At least three soldiers were killed and five others wounded when the Houthi group launched a surprise attack in the southern Yemeni province of Dhale, a government military source told.

The Houthi group, which controls several northern provinces, launched an artillery and rocket attack early Sunday morning against a government military position in the Bab Ghalaq area in Qataba district, northwest Dhale province, the source told news agency on condition of anonymity.

The fatalities included the commander of the military position, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed al-Hamidi, said the source.

The Houthi group has not commented yet.

Paris Saint-Germain strongly condemned the abusive and racist comments directed at its defender Nuno Mendes on social media after a Ligue 1 game.

The club expressed its full support for the Portuguese left back, after he shared the comments he had received on his Instagram story following PSG’s 3-1 win against Brest on Saturday.

Brest took the lead in the match after Mendes brought down Ludovic Ajorque to concede a first-half penalty, which was converted by Romain del Castillo.

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen's Houthi group, has said that the group's military operations against Israel will continue and intensify.

The Houthi leader issued the threat in the wake of a missile attack launched by the group on central Israel earlier on Sunday, news agency reported.

"Our operations will continue as long as the aggression and siege on the Gaza Strip continue," al-Houthi said in a televised address broadcast via the group's al-Masirah channel.

"We are moving to do more and what is coming is greater."

Widespread flooding in Myanmar has left 113 people dead and 64 missing, according to the Information Team of Myanmar's State Administration Council.

According to the information released the flood has impacted Nay Pyi Taw, Kayah State, Kayin State, Bago Region, Magway Region, Mandalay Region, Mon State, Shan State, and Ayeyarwady Region, news agency reported.

As of the evening of September 14, more than 72,900 homes and over 78,000 households have been affected, displacing over 320,000 people to temporary shelters across the country, it added.

A firefighter in northeastern Austria has died in floods as torrential rain and heavy storms swept across the central European country, authorities said.

The firefighter was pumping water from a flooded building in the state of Lower Austria when the incident occurred, local authorities said on Sunday.

The entire state of Lower Austria was declared a natural disaster zone on Sunday morning following relentless heavy rainfall that caused severe flooding, the Austrian news agency reported.

Governor of Lower Austria Johanna Mikl-Leitner said that more than 25,000 emergency personnel had been deployed, news agency reported.
