Expert Talk on "Basics of Intellectual Property Rights" Organized at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College

 

Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib, organized an expert talk under the Impact Lecture Scheme initiated by the Ministry of Education Innovation Cell, AICTE. The seminar focused on the topic "Basics of Intellectual Property Rights and Its Importance for Innovators and Entrepreneurs." The keynote speaker for the event was Er. Amardev Singh, Assistant Professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship Development and Industrial Coordination at NITTTR, Chandigarh. He provided in-depth insights into various types of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and their significance. He also encouraged students to develop entrepreneurial skills and strive for self-reliance. The session commenced with an introduction by Dr. Arishu Kaushik, IP Coordinator, BBSBEC IIC, who welcomed the dignitaries, organizing committee, and participants. Dr. Amandeep Singh delivered the welcome address. More than 50 students actively participated in the session, showing great enthusiasm.During the lecture, Er. Amardev Singh used a special kit containing several IPR-registered items to provide a practical demonstration of IPR concepts. His engaging and informative session received widespread appreciation from the students.In his address, Principal Dr. Lakhvir Singh congratulated the organizing team and emphasized that such expert talks play a crucial role in enhancing students' awareness of IPRs and fostering innovation.The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Manpreet Kaur, President of BBSBEC-IIC, who expressed gratitude to the expert speaker and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell for their support and funding for the event. The college's Innovation Council assured its continued commitment to organizing such insightful events in the future.
