Man wanted for killing his uncle nabbed in Delhi

A 29-year-old criminal, who was wanted for killing his maternal uncle over a property dispute, was arrested in the national capital after a massive operation, a Delhi Police official said on Tuesday. The accused identified as Pawan Bhati, a resident of Loni, was also carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head. At the time of his arrest, a ‘star mark’ pistol loaded with two bullets was recovered from him. The officials said that he was also found previously involved in five cases of a heinous nature and a case under the Uttar Pradesh Gunda Act. Bhati was on April 23 was externed from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.

Moving swiftly, the Pune Police on Tuesday arrested a prominent city realtor Vishal Agarwal -- the father of a 17-year-old boy who killed two IT techies in his speeding Porsche -- from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Agarwal was absconding for the past two days after his son knocked down two IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh early on Sunday morning in an alleged case of underage, drunken driving in an unregistered vehicle, sparking a furore in Pune. Tracked and caught by a Pune Crime Branch team in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Vishal Agarwal will be brought to Pune later in the day and produced before a court, officials said. Soon after the gruesome accident around 2.15 a.m. on Sunday (May 19), the Pune Police booked Vishal Agarwal for handing over the car without a registration to his son who did not have a driving license.

Gujarat's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has nabbed four terrorists from the Ahmedabad airport following a tip-off from a central agency. The arrested individuals -- all Sri Lankan nationals -- are reportedly affiliated with the Islamic State (IS), officials said. “For several days, the Gujarat ATS was closely monitoring the activities at the Ahmedabad airport. Four police teams were strategically positioned to monitor and apprehend the suspects. The terrorists were nabbed on Sunday night. Their intensive interrogation is presently underway.” sources said.

According to reports, on Sunday late evening, following a verbal duel, 71-year-old Joseph, losing his cool rushed to the kitchen and came out with a knife and slashed the neck of his 64-year-old wife, Leela. After ensuring that his wife had breathed her last, Joseph dressed up and after lighting a candle at a roadside Christian tomb, he walked into the police station and confessed to the crime.

The Anti-Narcotics division of Karnataka Police raided a rave party organised at a farmhouse on the outskirts of Bengaluru, said officials on Monday. The party, involving techies and Telugu actors, was held in the G.M Farmhouse in the Singena Agrahara area near Electronics City, till the early hours. The police seized 17 MDMA tablets and cocaine from the scene. According to police sources, more than 100 participants, including techies, Telugu film actors, models, and young men and women from Bengaluru and Andhra Pradesh, were at the rave party.
