Chandigarh, June 29
The Meteorological Department has expressed the hope that monsoon will reach all Punjab and Haryana within the next two-three days and has issued a warning of heavy rain in these states during the next few days. The Indian Meteorological Department said that there may be heavy rain in northwest India for the next four to five days. The department has also indicated the possibility of wind and lightning along with the rain.The department said that monsoon has reached most parts of Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Kashmir, Jammu and Delhi as well as some parts of Punjab and Haryana.
The department said that the conditions are perfect for the monsoon to move over Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and other parts of Jammu and towards Chandigarh and it will reach here in the next 2-3 days. The department said that heavy rain may occur in Himachal Pradesh on June 29 and 30, Punjab on June 30 and July 1 and Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi from June 29 to July 1.
