Desh Bhagat University organized an International Workshop on “Developing Teaching and Research Skills”

The School of Business Management and Commerce of Desh Bhagat University organized an International Workshop on “Developing Teaching and Research Skills”.  Dr. Rajni Saluja, Director,Management  welcomed Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro chancellor as the chief guests and Dr. Sandeep Singh, President ; Dr Virinder Singh advisor to chancellor and Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President, Dr Rajiv pro vice chancellor as the special guests. Dr. Vipin Gupta, Professor and Co - Director, Center for Global Management at CSU ( California State University, San Bernardo, Jack Brown College of Business and Public Administration, University of Pennsylvania) was the esteemed guest speaker and Dr. G. S Batra, Dean Academic Affairs, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University Patiala was the guest of honour of the event. Dr. Saluja welcomed  the invited guest speaker and other dignitaries. Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor congratulated the Department for organizing the workshop. He added that the topic of Research is very vast and teaching is a life-long learning process. Hence, such workshops can be very instrumental for researchers and teachers. On the occasion, Dr. Vipin Gupta shared his experiences on Research and Teaching skills. Dr. Gupta said that Developing teaching and research skills is crucial for educators and scholars alike, as it fosters a dynamic learning environment and contributes to the advancement of knowledge. Effective teaching involves understanding diverse learning styles, utilizing pedagogical techniques, and continuously refining methods to engage students and enhance their understanding. Research skills are equally vital, enabling individuals to conduct rigorous investigations, analyze data critically, and contribute original insights to their field. Both teaching and research skills require ongoing development through workshops, peer collaboration, and staying abreast of advancements in education and disciplinary knowledge. By honing these competencies, educators can inspire curiosity, promote academic excellence, and prepare students to navigate complex challenges in their respective fields, fostering a culture of lifelong learning and innovation. Dr. G. S Batra, the guest of honor added that investing in cultivation of teaching and research skills is highly required for professional growth and enriches the knowledge of both educators and learners. Dr. Baldeep Singh, Convenor, Dr. Kirti Sharma, stage secretary, Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Dr. Manmeet Singh and Dr. Sajad Ahmed were the coordinators of the event. At the end of the event Dr. Manoj thanked the chief guest, special guest, guest speaker and participants.
