Golden Opportunity for Budding Sportspersons of Fatehgarh Sahib

A talent identification program is being conducted by the Cycling Federation of India with the aim of encouraging youth for sports at the grassroots level. Giving information in this regard, the convener of the talent identification program and Maharaja Ranjit Singh awardee Jagdeep Singh Kahlon said that the talent identification program is being conducted in the whole of Punjab, the main purpose of which is to connect the youth with sports and especially cycling so that Cycling can be promoted in Punjab. Under this, the youngsters will be selected and sent to the academies of the Cycling Federation of India, where their accommodation, food, training, sports equipment will be provided free of cost. Kahlon said that youth from all the districts of Punjab are to be selected through trials and the selected players will be sent for the final trials in Delhi.  Boys and girls (12 to 14 years) born in 2010, 2011, 2012 from Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Sangrur, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Malerkotla districts adjacent can participate in these trials. Candidates have to pass the standing broad jump, high jump (vertical) and 1600 meters for boys and 800 meters for girls. Trials will held at Polo Ground, Patiala on 4th August from 7 AM to 6 PM. Interested players should bring their eligibility (Identity proof e.g. Aadhaar card), relevant age proof certificates, 04 passport size photographs to Polo Ground Patiala on 4th August.
