About 400 medical officers are being recruited by the health department to overcome the shortage of doctors in the government hospitals of Punjab and to provide better health facilities to the people. After about 4 years, the government is recruiting regular doctors.
So the process has been started. This process is going on through Baba Farid University. The process of applying for these posts will start by September 4. While the computer based test process will be completed on September 8. Doctors have to click on www.bfuhs.ac.in to apply.
This decision has been taken by the health department at a time when more than half of the sanctioned posts in the hospital are lying vacant. There are total 2300 medical officer posts in the department. Out of these 1250 posts are vacant. According to sources, if we talk about specialist doctors in government hospitals, the situation becomes more alarming.
Because out of 2700 posts, about 1550 posts are vacant. Punjab Civil Medical Services Association said that filling the government posts is a good step of the government. We demand that the vacant posts of doctors be filled.
