"Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan" launched by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government are playing an important role in making the state "Rangla Punjab". With the help of these games large number of children and youngsters are joining the sports. These views were expressed by S.D. M., Fatehgarh Sahib, Ismat Vijay Singh, at the Office of District Sports Officer, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College on the occasion of the inauguration of the Block Level Games of Block Sirhind under Season 3 of "Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan." While addressing the gathering she said, "Sports are very important for us because sports keep the players physically fit, moreover they also make the players mentally strong. We should connect our children with sports at an early age so that a healthy society can be created." Motivating the players, she said that victory and defeat are two sides of the same coin, so players should always play with discipline. High standards can be achieved only by better performance of sports talent. Ismat Vijay Singh disclosed that as per the guidelines of the Punjab government, block-level games, district-level games and state-level games are being conducted by the district administration and sports department at Fatehgarh Sahib. Under block-level games, 7 sports events would be conducted in different 5 blocks of the district which include Sirhind, Khera, Bassi Pathana, Khamanon and Amloh. Sports events include Athletics, Kho-Kho, Football, Volleyball Smashing, Volleyball Shooting, Kabaddi National Style and Kabaddi Circle Style. The block-level games would culminate on 10.09.2024.
Under District Level games, 27 sports events would be organized which includes Badminton, Gatka, Chess, Kabaddi Circle Style, Kho-Kho, Kick Boxing, Weight Lifting, Softball, Boxing, Lawn-Tennis, Swimming, Table-Tennis, Shooting, Judo, Power Lifting, Hockey, Athletics, Basketball, Kabaddi National Style, Football, Volleyball Shooting, Volleyball Smashing, Handball, Netball, Archery, Rugby and Wrestling etc. District level competitions would be organized from 15.09.2024 to 22.09.2024.
She appealed to the residents of the district for the maximum participation in the games. On this occasion, the Sports Department also honored SDM Ismat Vijay Singh. District Sports Officer Gurdeep Kaur said that more than 1500 children and youngsters are participating in these games. The registration for these games can be done online at the link

The District Sports Officer said that this effort had been made to revive the sports culture of Punjab. DSO said "These games are being conducted under different categories in which under-14, under-17, under-21, 21 to 30 years open group, 31 to 40 years open group, 41 to 50 years open group, 51 to 60 open group, 61 to 70 years open group and above 70 years, are included. and senior basketball coach Rahuldeep Singh said that proper arrangements have been made regarding sports venues and equipment, drinking water, and refreshments for the players. Players and spectators would not face any kind of problem. He appealed to the residents of the district for the maximum participation. On this occasion, students of Government School, Turan, Jashan Singh presented the title song of these Games and the students of Ashoka School, Sirhind performed the bhangra.
