Desh Bhagat University Organised Anti Ragging Awareness Activity

 

Under the guidance of Dr. Zora Singh Chancellor and Dr. Tajinder Kaur Pro-Chancellor anti-ragging awareness  event was organized by Agrim Club of Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences in association with Techno Club of Faculty of Engineering Technology and Computing of the Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh for B. Sc Agriculture Hons. Sem III,V, M.Sc Horticulture Sem I , M.Sc. Zoology Sem In B Tech sem I, Btech sem III  students.
Dr. Arshdeep Singh, Mr. Ravinder Singh and Miss Shivangi Sood, Coordinator of the event, faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Faculty of Engineering Technology were present. The motive of the Event was to enlighten the students about Anti-ragging. Dr. Arshdeep Singh started his presentation on Anti-ragging provided the detailed information regarding various anti ragging issues about ragging is originally a western concept and was originally a form of social interaction between seniors and juniors in schools and colleges. However, these interactions have taken a very brutal, inhuman and anti-social form at times. He said that some of the highly reputed colleges and institutions have a terrible history of ragging. Ragging has social, physical, political, economic, academic and physiological dimensions. He provided detailed information anti-ragging on important including Dress Code Ragging, Verbal Abuse, Physical abuse, Sexual abuse, Academic performance, Anti-Ragging Helpline and anonymous complaints , Controversy, Anti-ragging movement in India, Adverse consequences, Major incidents, Legal framework students and Faculty members participated in the Expert talk on Antiragging Awareness.
On this occasion students Raju Kumar, Prakash Kumar, Shivam Kumar, Rahul Raj, Jyoti Raj, Rahul Kumar Raju Kumar, Ritesh Kumar, Akshay Kumar Chouhan, Shakeel Ahmed, Manish Kumar Chaudhary, Mohammad Haroon, Kingston JR Alexander K, Sweety, Kamlesh, Jagriti, Avantika, Shabnam, Anjali and faculty members Prof. H K Sidh, Dr Sachin Bhardwaj, Dr. Avinash Kumar Bhatia,Ravinder Singh, Shivangi Sood, Chanpreet Kaur, Sunidhi and Sanjot were also present.
