Desh Bhagat University Offers Scholarships and Employment Opportunities to Support Pahalgam Victim’s Families

In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity and compassion, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, has announced a special social responsibility initiative to support the families affected by the Pahalgam Terror Attack. Under this initiative, the University will grant 100% scholarships on tuition fees to eligible family members (dependents) of the victims, enabling them to pursue education in a wide range of programs offered by the University. Scholarships will be applicable for Regular Programs in Engineering, Management, Commerce, Computer Applications, Hotel Management and Humanities. Online Programs and Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Programs offered through the DBU Centre for Online and Distance Learning. Further, based on educational qualifications and experience, employment opportunities will also be provided to the surviving spouse or dependent family members in suitable teaching or administrative roles within the University on a priority basis, helping them achieve financial security and rebuild their lives with dignity. Speaking on this noble initiative, Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, stated, “Desh Bhagat University stands as a pillar of support for those who have suffered unimaginable losses. With utmost humility and a deep sense of responsibility, we offer education and employment opportunities to honor the resilience of these families and help them rebuild their future. Our commitment to societal welfare remains unwavering.” Adding to this Dr. Sandeep Singh, President, DBU said, “Social responsibility forms the core of our institutional ethos. By supporting the affected families through education and employment, we are not just offering assistance; we are investing in hope, resilience, and new beginnings. Desh Bhagat University remains committed to making a meaningful difference in society.” Further reaffirming the University’s commitment, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, emphasized, “At Desh Bhagat University, we believe that education and empowerment are the strongest tools for healing and rebuilding lives. We stand with the victim’s families in their time of need and pledge to support them with dignity, respect, and genuine care.”
