Jalandhar/Chandigarh, April 17
Senior leader and spokesperson of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab, Pawan Kumar Tinu, has posed serious questions to Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Partap Bajwa, and the Congress Party.
Pawan Tinu raised concerns over Khalistani sympathizer Gurpatwant Pannun’s support for Partap Bajwa’s claim about 50 grenades entering Punjab. He highlighted that, the same Pannun, who threatened to destroy statues of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, and made derogatory remarks against him, is now backing Bajwa’s statement. This, Tinu asserted, raises serious doubts, and he demanded that the Congress Party clarify its stance on the matter.
Tinu asserted that the Congress Party has consistently displayed an anti-Ambedkar stance. He reminded that during Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s lifetime, Congress leaders vehemently opposed him, a pattern that continues even today. He demanded that the Congress Party must clearly state its position: does it stand with Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar, or with Gurpatwant Pannun, who openly insults him?
If the Congress Party claims to stand with Ambedkar, its top leaders must question Partap Bajwa and take action against him, Tinu concluded.
